Linn-Mar Show Choir Auditions 2026-27

Vocal Auditions

Vocal Auditions for next year’s show choirs will be done online with videos. Students will video record themselves singing the selected cut of a song a cappella and send it to us on a Google Form to score. You may record as many times as you like, but only send your final copy.

We will also have a Vocal Audition Help Night on Wednesday, April 29th from 6-7:15pm in the Linn-Mar High School Choir Room. This night is where all students come in and get some helpful tips about their audition and some vocal support on the audition song. Students can enter door 2 on the North side of the high school at 5:40pm. This is not a mandatory part of the audition, but an option to improve!

Choreography Auditions

Choreography auditions for next year’s show choir will be learned in person. Students will learn a dance in person or online from our choreographer, video record themselves dancing that choreographed routine, and send it to us on a Google Form to score. You may record as many times as you like, but only send your final copy

Choreography Learning

Both Learning sessions will take place in AEC Gym in the SW corner of the LMHS parking lot (Across from Earls). Enter through the door on the 10^th Street side of the building.

• Tuesday, May 26 6:30-9:00pm– Current 9-11th Graders
  • 6:30pm-7:45pm- Tenors and Basses
  • 7:45pm-9:00pm- Sopranos and Altos
• Wednesday, May 27 6:30-9:00pm– Current 8^th Graders
  • 6:30pm-7:45pm- Tenors and Basses
  • 7:45pm-9:00pm- Sopranos and Altos (Tenors and Basses invited to stay and practice in the High School Choir Room on the North side of the high school.)

We are simply splitting up the times by voice part in order to avoid big crowds. All High Schoolers will learn the SAME dance. All 8^th graders will learn the SAME dance.

You MUST show your entire body, head to toe, in the video you submit. We need to see your footwork and arm work in the video. If you do not follow these guidelines we will contact you about resubmitting your video.
